By countering climate change, using resources efficiently and promoting human rights, business can be a positive force for change. We want to take more action and enable greater progress, faster.
Bringing Fashion FWD until we are climate positive, fair for all and circular by design – this is our ultimate ambition, our North Star. It guides our strategy, our goals and the action we take to become as sustainable as possible, as soon as possible.
We have made some good progress in areas such as social labour, chemical management and the use of more sustainable materials since we formalised our first code of conduct in 2000, but now we are accelerating. Our Fashion FWD strategy emphasises the immediate need for inclusive and holistic action on sustainability. This action must support business growth within planetary limits by constantly optimising our operations, setting science based targets, and by seeking innovative solutions across the whole value chain. We are acting on the areas where we know we can improve immediately, collaborating with our partners, finding new answers, and re-evaluating when new information arises.
Our Fashion FWD strategy sets our near-term direction and keeps us accountable with goals to achieve by 2025. When we have achieved these goals, we will then set new ones, always aiming higher towards our North Star.
