BESTSELLER RECRUITS EXPERIENCED LOGISTICS DIRECTOR

Allan K. Kjærgaard has been appointed as Director of Logistics in BESTSELLER after many years with JYSK, Carlsberg and Lantmännen Unibake. In BESTSELLER, Allan K. Kjærgaard will be responsible for enhancing the company’s full value chain, which is set for significant investment in the coming years.

BESTSELLER is set to strengthen and intensify its investments in its combined supply chain over the coming years. To accelerate that process, Allan K. Kjærgaard will join BESTSELLER as its new Director of Logistics.

Allan arrives at BESTSELLER with extensive experience at Carlsberg, Lantmännen Unibake and, most recently, JYSK where he has been responsible for the company’s logistics operation. He will take over a corresponding role in BESTSELLER, while also leading a process to enhance the company’s supply chain across countries and facilities.

“Logistics has never been more important and we have invested and improved our supply chain extensively in recent years. Our focus has both been commercial and organisational, so that we can be even closer to our customers, but also so that we can reach the ambitious climate goals we have set where transport will naturally be an integral factor. We are all going to significantly continue and accelerate this work. Our ambitions are great and we need to work hard to achieve them, and I am sure that Allan is the right person to contribute to this,” says BESTSELLER’s CEO and owner Anders Holch Povlsen, who Allan K. Kjærgaard will report to.

BESTSELLER has recently opened a new logistics centre in Spain and signed a deal with Maersk to secure CO2-neutral ocean transport. The agreement between the two Danish companies ensures that BESTSELLER’s global transport needs will be more climate-friendly, as all its global sea freight will be powered by certified biofuel.

Allan K. Kjærgaard is looking forward to continuing and taking part in this ongoing process.

“BESTSELLER is known for its special culture and great expertise, which it has also exhibited in recent months where the global supply chain has been challenged at an historically high level but BESTSELLER has managed – despite these difficulties – to stay ahead and remain relatively unaffected compared to so many others. It is a reflection of the very strong team that I am looking forward to leading. I am also excited about being a part of a number of major projects that await us in the future,” says Allan K. Kjærgaard.

Allan K. Kjærgaard will commence his new position 1 December 2021 where he will overtake responsibility for BESTSELLER Logistics from BESTSELLER’s CFO Thomas Børglum Jensen, who has simultaneously been in charge of the company’s logistics operations.

“We have taken some great strides forward and Thomas has been a driving force behind that, which deserves great recognition. We are now ready to take yet another step, and Thomas and I have determined that this will require a dedicated Director of Logistics, who can focus 100 percent  on that area, where Thomas has managed Finance and E-Commerce at the same time. Now we are strengthening our entire organisation and creating the best conditions for success,” explains Anders Holch Povlsen.

“We have come a long way and I am happy to have contributed to that, but now we are ready to take the next step and that requires a dedicated Director of Logistics, who can focus 100 percent on the area. This move will strengthen the entire organisation and create the best conditions for us to achieve the great ambitions we have and are set up to achieve,” says Thomas Børglum Jensen.
