BESTSELLER FOUNDATION BEHIND DONATION OF 100,000 TEST KITS
Anders Holch Povlsen, CEO and Owner of BESTSELLER, confirms that BESTSELLER FOUNDATION is the organisation behind the, until now, anonymous donation of 100,000 COVID-19 antibody test kits to the Capital Region of Denmark.
Now, Anders has stepped forward to confirm that BESTSELLER FOUNDATION is the donor of the 100,000 test kits produced by a Chinese medical company.
In a press release from 'Region hovedstaden' Anders says:
"With this donation – or other donations for that matter – we have never wanted to give any attention to neither BESTSELLER nor myself. What we wanted was to contribute to the important research on COVID-19 immunity, which is why we decided to offer the 100,000 antibody test kits so that hospitals could get started testing their medical staff. In the light of the current media speculations involving stories about secret Chinese donations, we have now decided to step forward.”
Sophie Hæstorp Andersen, Chairman of the Regional Council adds:
"I am happy that we can now put all these speculations behind us and instead concentrate on the project and gain more insight into this insidious virus. In this context, we are of course grateful that this donation, which was provided early in the process, gave us the opportunity to quickly start testing staff members and thereby researching how COVID-19 develops."
