BE THE CHANGE FESTIVAL IN AARHUS
Sunday 20 and Monday 21 August, BESTSELLER is present at the Be the Change Festival in Aarhus, Denmark where the public can join us for a discussion about sustainable development in the textile industry and get a peek of our new more sustainable collection, AWARE by VERO MODA.
12 refugee shelters set the scene for the Be the Change Festival in front of the Concert Hall in Aarhus, when BESTSELLER and other UNLEASH partners invite the public to come and learn about and discuss how we work to contribute to make the world more sustainable. The aim of the festival is to create more awareness around the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to motivate and inspire people to drive sustainable change in their everyday lives through dialogue and exercises.
“It’s a great chance to get an informal talk with consumers, colleagues and other interested people about our efforts to make BESTSELLER a more sustainable company, but also to discuss the many challenges that we face in the textile industry,” says Anja Bremholm from BESTSELLER Sustainability.
On Monday 21 August at 1.15 PM, Minister for International Development Ulla Tørnæs, the Mayor of Aarhus Jacob Bundsgaard, former Climate and Energy Minister Lykke Friis and others will participate in a panel debate. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will witness the debate, and afterwards she will visit all the shelters and hear about our work.
BESTSELLER will be present in the ‘Sustainable Consumption and Production’ shelter where we will present the new AWARE by VERO MODA collection which is made from more sustainable fibers such as Tencel, organic cotton and recycled polyester.
“We are very excited to present the new AWARE by VERO MODA collection to the Crown Princess and our customers, and we hope that our collection will inspire our customers to make more sustainable choices when they buy clothes,” says Camilla Bundgaard Thomsen, Design & Buying Manager, AWARE by VERO MODA.
The festival is part of UNLEASH, the global non-profit initiative which has gathered 1,000 global talents in Denmark this week to come up with solutions to some of the world’s most pressing issues. BESTSELLER sponsors one of the tracks ‘Sustainable Consumption and Production’.
