An international career in Denmak
This is Federico
Meet Federico from Colombia, who moved to Denmark in November 2017 to be part of JACK & JONES’ Money Makers project.
WHERE ARE YOU FROM, AND HOW DID YOU END UP AT BESTSELLER IN DENMARK?
I am from Medellín, Colombia. After working for several years with advertising and marketing back in Colombia, I moved to Barcelona to start my master’s degree in Fashion Marketing and Sales. As part of my master’s degree, I got an internship at BESTSLLER’s office in Spain where I was working with the JACK & JONES Wholesale Sales Team in Barcelona.
After finishing the internship, I was offered a job as Junior Sales Representative for JACK & JONES and it was after almost one year in this position, that I was offered the opportunity to join the JACK & JONES Money Makers Project based here in Denmark.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN BESTSELLER?
I am in the Jack & Jones Money Makers Team, where I am the Spanish Money Maker. This means that I am taking care of NOOS for the Spanish Wholesale Market and being the connection between Denmark and Spain in this category. My job is mainly about selling and planning the weekly resupply for the Spanish customers.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE THE BEST ABOUT WORKING IN BESTSELLER?
In BESTSELLER, I have always felt like part of a family. Since the beginning, I have been lucky to work with colleagues that always put in their best effort, building hard working, loyal, honest, passionate and innovative teams, and the result of this is the perfect environment to grow as a person and as a professional. For me, this is the best starting point to a successful career path!
The ability to combine results with a healthy and fun work environment makes it so easy to come to work every day and to make the most out of it.
WHAT IS IT LIKE TO LIVE IN DENMARK?
Living in Denmark has been a great experience! So far, I have had the pleasure of meeting super nice and “hyggelig” people, that open their culture to me. The Danes I have met so far have always been really proud of who they are and of their country, which gives me the feeling of wanting to be part of it and contribute to the Danish style of life.
Of course, all changes come with challenges and there are always things that you will miss from your home country, your family and friends. It is in overcoming those challenges and making this place your new home that you find your own strengths and your place in this new life.
