LOCAL RECREATIONAL AREA GETS A BOOST FROM BESTSELLER
BESTSELLER plans to rehabilitate a local recreational area and make it more accessible to the citizens of their hometown Brande.
Close to CAMPUS, BESTSELLER’s local training facility in Brande, the river ‘Skjern Å’ runs through the lake ‘Brande Elværksø’. On 7 November 2013 the lake disappeared after its dam broke, leaving a valley with Skjern Å running through it. BESTSELLER has now taken over the area and plan to create more recreation grounds.
“We are very excited about this project and hope that it will bring joy to our local colleagues and the citizens of Brande. We are inviting people to engage with the local environment by renovating existing trails and building new public shelters to bring back some of the life that once surrounded this beautiful spot,” says BESTSELLER Communication Manager Jesper Stubkier.
Nine worn out cottages will be scrapped and replaced with three to four public camping shelter areas, with up to three shelters at each location. Only one cottage, the one closest to BESTSELLER’s CAMPUS, will be rebuilt and will provide BESTSELLER campus students with a place for group work and study. The cottage will be 26m2 with a terrace. Clad in wood and glass and with a roof of traditional grass turf, the cottage will mirror the rest of the buildings at CAMPUS.
Local wildlife will be considered when choosing the precise placements of the shelter areas, which will be decided by BESTSELLER and the local municipality.
