An international competition to unearth fresh talent will give two budding creatives a seat at the table of the European fashion industry.

An up-and-coming German designer and a freelance Dutch photographer will see their work take centre stage for the next European winter season after they won the inaugural VILA Talent Awards.

Continuing BESTSELLER’s tradition of giving talented individuals a chance to shine, Pia Schulz’s winning designs will come to life as a capsule collection, while Elisabeth van Aalderen will shoot the collection’s image campaign on the streets of one of Europe’s fashion capitals.

VILA’s Digital Content and PR Responsible Annette Hyttel Vestergaard said: “In BESTSELLER we have a strong tradition of nurturing talent. VILA Talent Awards is based on the same idea; that talent needs to be spotted and nurtured.”

Pia – a 27-year-old from Berlin, Germany – was inspired by the iconic New York nightclub Studio 54 when designing her five-piece party collection, while Elisabeth – a 31-year-old from Haarlem, Netherlands – impressed the judging panel with the way her work reflects the realism of the street.

“As an international brand, VILA is keenly aware that there are nuances in how style is interpreted around Europe. Capturing this is essential, and both our winners have mastered it,” Annette said.

VILA will launch Pia’s five-piece capsule party collection and Elisabeth’s accompanying imagery in November.
